25.3.1989,Pichi Richi Railway workshop NARP sitting car

Built at Port Augusta as "NBPA" second class sitting cars in 1927 for use on the Central Australia Railway. In 1930 they were converted to composite "NABPA".

As the Ghan service increased after WWII they were all converted, to first class sleeping car with accomodation for 12. This involved the removing of an end platform to provide space for a shower compartment, and one side was rebuilt to suit the new sleeping compartment arrangement.

12.8.1930Converted to composite "NABPA".
17.4.1951Converted to first class sleeping car with accomodation.
Easter 1964Used on Australian Railway Historical Society special from Marree to Alberrie Creek.
8.1971Used on mixed trains.
26.4.1980Sold to Pichi Richi Railway.
1.1999Sent to Husnjak Joinery, Adelaide for rebuilding back to "NABPA" format.
20.9.1999Returned to Quorn after rebuilding.
